Night One

To begin the Totally Abel Tasman Trip, you will be arriving in the evening at Marahau to get set up.

Night Two

This way you are ready, and on the first boat out of Marahau on the second day and take an awesome boat ride up the top of the Abel Tasman to Totaranui. Departing at 9 am the boat ride will take ~1.5 hours. Totaranui is one of the gems of the Abel Tasman. The campsite this night will be on the other side of the Awaroa Inlet. You can only cross the inlet 1.5 hours on either side of low tide, so the low tide time will dictate how much time you will have to spend in Totarani. You can upgrade from the standard camping to either the DOC Hut or to the famous Awaroa Lodge if you feel like a bit of a treat on the second night!

Night Three

From here you start the Remote Coast Guided Kayak trip. It’s an awesome day exploring the Marine Reserve including going up shag harbor to visit the seal pups and out to Tonga Island. The Third night’s camp is Mosquito Bay. Don’t let the name fool you, it is one of the best beaches in the park and highly sort after. Book in early to get this!

Night Four

You will have the kayaks for the morning, All you have to do is a quick 20min paddle to Bark Bay, where you will leave the kayak. From Bark Bay, you get to walk through one of Abel Tasman’s great walking sections.  It is about a 3-4 hour hike including Cleopatras Falls and the Falls River Swing Bridge until you reach Anchorage. A great spot for lunch and a swim! From Anchorage it is a 3.5 hours walk back to Marahau, (or we could arrange a boat if need be). Once in Marahau you can come back to the Barn and relax in comfort to reflect on the last few days in our range of accommodation options.

• The trip includes camping accommodation for all nights inside the Park and a nights camping at The Barn on the First and last night. (subject to availability, and upgrades available)

• We can arrange a variety of Accommodation at The Barn in Marahau on either side of the Trip.
• We can arrange food options for meals inside the park. (Free lunch included on the guided kayaking day)
