Start your day sailing from Kaiteriteri beach, soaking up the scenery along the stunning Abel Tasman National Park coastline, passing the iconic Split Apple Rock and the playful NZ Fur Seal colony. Take in the golden beaches, bays, islands and birdsong. Learn about the history, marine life flora and fauna from your knowledgeable skipper before arriving at Anchorage Bay around midday.
Enjoy your own packed lunch on the beach (pre-ordered catering available) or take a swim before starting your self guided nature walk back to Marahau. Stroll along sandy beaches via picture-perfect lookouts and through native bush and the beautiful scenery the National Park coastal track has to offer ( 3-4 hour self-guided walk).
Note: Free morning transfers from Marahau are provided. This provides you with the freedom to walk the coastal track at your own pace. Free all day car parking is available at the track entrance in Marahau.
- Meeting Place and Time: 8:30am pick up from the bus shelter at side of the car park at the National Park Entrance, Marahau. Parking free of charge.
- Departs & Returns from: Kaiteriteri Beach at 10am, Return to Marahau (Park Entrance) at your own leisure.
- What’s included: Half-day skippered sail tour, free tea & coffee, toilets on board sailing catamaran. Free morning transfer from Marahau to Kaiteriteri Beach. Freedom walk (3-4 hours).
- Essential to Bring: Small day bag, layers of warm clothing, windproof jacket, comfortable walking shoes, boat shoes that are easily removable, swimwear & towel, your own water bottle, plenty of sunscreen (SPF 30+ is best), insect repellent, sun hat, sunglasses and your camera!
