Abel Tasman Trips / The Barn (Abel Tasman) ltd - Cancelation policy

 Abel Tasman Trips understands that travel plans vary due to illness, accident and people simply changing their minds. In turn, we ask our clients to understand that we may have turned away a number of keen people for those reserved places. We may also have committed expenses for food, staff, transport or accommodation. We will have incurred expense in processing the enquiry and bookings. Finally, we have learned to respect the sea and the New Zealand weather, and not to take unnecessary risks.

Client Cancelation Policy

There is a 10% non-refundable deposit put down on the trip for organizing and procurement costs that are incurred in the setting up of a trip.

 

Cancelation by a client within 14 days of departure will incur a 10% cancelation fee of activity prices along with any accommodation fees applicable.

 

Cancelation by a client with 7 days of departure will incur a 100% cancelation fee along with any accommodation fees.

 

There will be NO refund on any portion or part of a overnight/multiday trip once the trip has departed.

 

PLEASE NOTE THAT IN THE EVENT OF A NO-SHOW FULL PAYMENT WILL BE CHARGED!

 

Cancelation by Abel Tasman Trips or An Associated Operator (“We, us”) :

All operators in the Abel Tasman take safety very seriously. We reserves the sole right to cancel a part or all of a trip on no notice due to weather.

In this situation we will cover the cost of water taxiing clients’ kayaks back to Marahau, and cover your passenger fare where there is no practical walk out option. Where a practical walk out option does exist, and clients seek to return via water taxi, the passenger fare is their own cost.

Notes:

1.     We reserve the right to cancel a client’s tour in the event of non-compliance with the terms and conditions set out in any safety briefing, sea kayak rental briefing, or relevant rules and regulations governing the Abel Tasman National Park, its foreshore and adjoining waterways. In this situation, there is no refund.

2.      We reserve the right to change the direction of a trip due to such things as kayaking conditions and kayak availability. Such a change will not allow the customer to cancel a trip without application of the cancellation policy.

3.     If your trip includes accommodation it is possible that the third party accommodation may be booked out between the time of booking and us securing the accommodation. On the rare occasion this occurs we will offer alternative options, if this is not possible then we will cancel and refund the booking.

 

Safety and responsibility:

Canyoning is a potentially dangerous activity. Participants should be aware that Abel Tasman Canyons is unable to guarantee your safety on trips. Before commencing a trip, all participants must sign an indemnification form which states risks and responsibilities. For participants under 16 yeas old, the form must be signed by a parent or guardian (18+).

 

Drugs and alcohol:

You will not be allowed to participate under the influence of drugs or alcohol

 

Medical Conditions:

Any medical conditions, injuries or allergies must be disclosed upon booking.

TRAVEL INSURANCE:

 

 

We advise all clients to consider arranging appropriate travel insurance that covers Adventure Tourism. You will not be insured by The Barn, Abel Tasman Trips nor any of the Operators in The Abel Tasman.

On guided trips, we are responsible for all company equipment on that trip (e.g. kayaks, tents etc). For Kayak Rentals, the client is solely responsible for any loss or damage to all equipment. The hirers’ responsibility ceases once Abel Tasman Kayaks equipment has been loaded onto an approved water taxi or loaded onto the kayak transporters. Under all circumstances, the client is solely responsible for their personal equipment.

Gear Hire

  • All Hire Items are subject to stock availability.
  • To maintain the hire items in a good state of repair and return the items in the same condition as when they were hired, with only normal wear and tear expected.
  • Full compensation for replacement and/or repair of any hired items in instances such as: the items are not returned due to loss or theft and if the items are returned damaged and in need of repair (with only normal wear and tear expected)
  • 1 week cancellation fee.
  • No refunds will be made for any gear hired or portion of the order which is claimed not to have been used.
  • These terms are accepted by the person ordering the items upon confirmation of the booking.
