Sustainable Effort
We are semi off-grid gathering our own water sources, processing our own liquid waste, composting, gardening, farming, running a nursery and trying to use as many eco friendly options as possible.

A Couple Of Nice Write Ups!!
“The Barn is one of those magical places. Situated at the south of Abel Tasman national park it’s a relaxed haven. The staff are amazing and SO helpful. They make sure you get them to advise on the best kayak and walking adventures.
There’s yoga available and ‘Ash’ the wonderful massage therapist and naturopath gave me a fantastic treatment. The shared facilities are great, well equipped kitchen and lots of loos and showers. We fell in love with The Barn and were very sad to leave. It’s a wonderful place.”

“Stayed two nights, one in private cabin and one camping. Great facilities - kitchen stocked with pots, pans, cutlery, fridge/freezer, etc. nice shower/toilets, good hot water. Many spots to lounge and enjoy sunshine - hammocks, chairs, etc. Friendly staff. A nice and quiet place to relax - wish we had stayed longer. Will return!”

"I stayed at the Barn for two nights when I was on the Stray bus. I stayed in a private cabin with an AMAZING view out over the ocean which was amazing to wake up to in the morning. I also saw inside the dorm rooms which seemed very nice. The common areas were always clean and the staff were great.
Would 100% stay here again, I loved it!"

"Such a cosy homely place to stay! Our cabin had unobstructed ocean views which was absolutely stunning! The heating was brilliant even in the depths of the NZ Winter. The kitchen area has loads of seating and board games so it encourages you to socialise outside of the cabins!"
