Quick Tips:
- 1h from The Barn, Marahau
- Park at the Flora Car park at the end of Graham Valley Road.
- 9,2 km 3hr 30min one way. Return via the same track
- Level: Hard. A lot of climbing but easier than Mount Angelus. Take your time and enjoy the view.
The road up to Flora Car Park can be muddy after bad weather and a 4WD is recommended all year round so please be careful when driving up there. From the carpark, the track leads through a beautiful forest to Mt Arthur Hut, a great stop for a little snack before heading further up. After the hut, the path get’s more step and soon you’ll get to the open Alpine area with some amazing views! The path is quite clear and although it’s a good climb, the first part is not too hard. The last part towards the top of Mount Arthur is pretty steep but is totally worth the climb as soon as you see the view from the top. (Walking sticks come in handy at this part) You return to the carpark via the same track.
Tip: (Depending on the season) the top of Mount Arthur can be windy and cold. If you want to enjoy the view for a while it’s nice to bring an extra warm layer.
